The second day of Sports Gala was celebrated in a unique way by conducting a friendly match between teachers and students of GVNC, today on Feb 20th, 2020.
Principal Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti was welcomed as honourable chief guest. The teachers team stood as the winning team. This match was a friendly gesture between teachers and students.
Inauguration of the two- day Australian Football league matches was held today, on 19th February, 2020, at Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi. The inauguration ceremony was organized by Prof. Maryam and Prof. Maria of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Mr. Sardar Tariq Mehmood, President AFL. Along with College Principal Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti, Mr. Raja Nazeem, Vice President AFL, Senior Member AFL, Ms. Sania Kamran, and renowned Test Cricketer, Mr. Manzoor Elahi graced the occasion. The ceremony was formally inaugurated by ribbon cutting and by releasing balloons in the air.
The gala started with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran presented by Ms. Nadia Zafar, followed by the presentation of Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (SAWW) by Ms. Anaya Mujahid. After the National anthem, the chief guest and other respectable guests posed for group photos with the participant teams. A total of five teams are participating in AFL, out of which three teams are of the students from Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi. The fourth team is from Punjab Police College, whereas the fifth team belongs to Jhanda Chichi College, Rawalpindi.
Before the commencement of the matches, the students of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi welcomed the honorable guests and presented a cultural show. Horse dancing on the beat of drum was also exhibited to raise the excitement levels of the audience.
The commentary of the matches was done by Mr. Shafqat Niazi. The first match was played between the teams of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi and Punjab Police College, which was won by the students of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi by 50 points. The second match was played between the teams of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi and Jhanda Chichi College Rawalpindi. This match was also won by the students of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi by 1 point. The third match was played between Punjab Police College and Jhanda Chichi College Rawalpindi, in which the students of Punjab Police College were declared victorious by 7 points. Semi-final will be played between the teams of Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W) Rawalpindi and Punjab Police College, after which the prize distribution ceremony will be held.
Govt Viqar un Nisa Post Graduate college celebrated Kashmir day on Feb 4th 2020 with full zeal and zest.
After recitation and Naat e Rasool Maqbool, the program started with playing of the national anthem.
College ground saw beautiful colours in Pakistani and Kasmiri flags with overwhelming strength of students in presence of honourable guests MPA Samabviya Tahir and the worthy college principal, Prof Dr. Saira Mufti.
Dressed in beautiful Kashmiri costumes college students paid tribute to the struggles of our Kashmiri brotherens in skits and other performances.
MPA Samabviya Tahir also delivered her speech highlighting the plight of kashmiris and how we should help create awareness to boycott Indians to show solidarity with kashmir and Kashmirs..
Mrs Nusrat Junaid ex VP of 6th Road PG college also graced the occasion.
The event ended with venerable principal's address in which she expressed spirit of solidarity with the very cause and with the people of Kashmir making prayers for the freedom of Kashmir.
